Happy Meal's "Care Bears Halloween" Mobile Game
For this program, I was responsible for leading the 3D creative on creating assets for the October campaign. My main responsibilities were level design, character modeling, and in-game animations.

Below is the video gameplay demo showcasing the different spooky places inspired by the "Care Bears: Unlock the Magic" show. Collect orbs and navigate the maze to get them all!
I had to translate the 2D vector art of the Care Bears into 3D models for the game. I wanted to retain the graphic treatment of the bears so I decided to add a stroke to the mesh and keep most of the line details. Each Care Bear mash-up had different eyes and facial expressions, so I created geos for the face so we can animate it with blendshapes driven by joints.
For environments, we wanted to achieve the painterly sets in the tv show so we painted textures and use the vector illustrations for the 3D objects. I collaborated with Dan Forke who was a 3D Artist/Motion Designer in our team on creating these spook-tastic environment sets that make the play area feel immersive and engaging. Throughout each level, I added scripts to make certain items such as pumpkins have simple animations to add life to the scene.
To avoid costly lighting setups, I created a shader that adds on top of the diffuse to create fake lighting such as the warm glow in Level 1, the blue moonlight in Level 2, and purple/green in Level 3.
